EUROPE/WEST COAST SOUTH AMERICA LINES RAISE FREQUENCY
Carriers of the North Europe/West Coast of South America Eurosal consortium are adding a containership and increasing their service frequency, as a result of CMA CGM's decision to join the joint service.
The shipping line joins Eurosal carriers Compania Sud America de Vapores, Hapag-Lloyd, Hamburg-Sud and P&O Nedlloyd. The service now provides weekly sailings instead of every nine days.
CMA CGM has pulled out of the Condor service, a competing joint container service with “K” Line and CCNI in the north Europe/West Coast of South America trade. CMA CGM added to the Eurosal service an eighth vessel, the 2,400-TEU “CMA CGM Chili,” a spokesman for the French shipping line said.
