China’s trade with North Korea was cut in half between November and December, as UN sanctions over the country’s nuclear and missile development programs tightened, the Associated Press reported Friday.
The White House issued a statement Friday, commending China for “sharply reducing” bilateral trade with North Korea.
The move will help a “United States-led global effort” to apply maximum pressure until the North Korean regime ends illicit programs, changes behavior and “moves toward denuclearization,” the White House said.
