CN plans logistics park
Canadian National Railway said Thursday it plans to create a new $100-million northeast of Calgary in Alberta.
The 680-acre CN Calgary Logistics Park in Conrich will include an intermodal terminal with room for customers to co-locate their facilities. It said there is potential for more than 2 million square feet of warehousing. The railroad expects to open the park in 2013.
CN said it would include a multi-commodity transload and warehouse facility, an automotive compound, and a liquid/bulk transload and distribution facility. The site is located a few miles east of the Calgary Airport.
CN said Calgary is the third-largest distribution center in Canada and is becoming a logistics hub for Western Canada.
