J.C. PENNEY PICKS EXEL DIRECT TO MANAGE TWIN CITIES HUB
Exel Direct, a product-fulfillment business unit of U.K.-based Exel, a provider of logistics services said Wednesday it had signed an agreement with J.C. Penney Co. Inc., to manage home deliveries of furniture from an Exel hub in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Exel Direct wants “to enhance customers’ buying experience through reliable home delivery of their big-ticket purchases,” said George Csehill, the company’s director of business development.
The provider’s agents, after delivery, unpack and assemble the furniture and remove packing debris.
Exel serves seven other J.C. Penney markets. Exel Direct operates a network of 38 company-owned delivery hubs across the U.S.
