Corpus Christi signs first agreement with Cuba
Cuba’s Alimport group, responsible for importing food for Cuba, has signed its first strategic shipping agreement with a U.S. port, the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas.
An official at the port was quoted as saying, “the act could help erode the long-standing U.S. embargo of Cuba.”
Ruben Bonilla Jr., chairman of the port’s commission, and port commissioner Robert J.Gonzalez, were in Cuba for a meeting.
