DHL takes over logistics center in Germany
DHL Exel Supply Chain earlier this month took over Deutsche Steinkohle AG’s (DSK) 85,000-square-meter logistics center in Hirschbach, Germany.
Under terms of the deal, 113 employees have joined DHL. No financial details were disclosed.
“By opening the site to third-party customers, the center will be developed further during the next years,” said Franz-Josef Heiermann, head of materials management at DSK.
“We will rapidly integrate the Hirschbach center into our network while guaranteeing DSK the usual quality of logistics services. Our next step will be to develop the site for new logistics activities in other sectors,” said Stefan Kurrle, chief executive officer of DHL Exel Supply Chain for Central Europe.
