LAN Airlines scores December cargo increase
LAN Airlines S.A., the Latin American airline group, reported a 12.4 percent increase for cargo traffic, as measured in revenue-ton-kilometers, for the month of December, compared to the same month in 2003.
For the same month, capacity increased 7.8 percent, with the cargo load factor increasing 2.9 points to 69.4 percent.
“These results reflect improving southbound traffic, as well as strong export traffic out of Latin America,” the company said in statement.
The LAN Alliance includes LanChile, LanPeru and LanEcuador, and operates 54 passenger aircraft and seven dedicated freighters.
