VIRGIN WINS CHICAGO SLOTS
U.S. regulators have awarded British carrier Virgin Atlantic Airways
daily landing and takeoff slots at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
Virgin hopes to begin daily transatlantic service between Chicago and
London with a widebody Airbus A340-300 in November.
United Airlines, which calls O’Hare home, had opposed the Virgin
application, arguing that U.S. airlines lack comparable access to London’s airports.
