BRIDGEPOINT ADDS OCEAN SHIPPING CONTRACT MODULE
BridgePoint, a supply chain software firm owned by CSX Corp., has introduced an ocean carrier contract module.
The new functionality incorporates software previously developed by GoCargo, the defunct container shipping dot-com.
BridgePoint said that the ocean module will enable shippers to create and manage global carrier contracts by enabling multiple remote users to collaborate in the preparation, review, awarding and maintenance of
contracts to multiple carriers online.
The software provider said that the software will shorten the current four to six month manual process of collecting, communicating and negotiating carrier contracts, through automation. The module will also allow shippers and carriers “to manage and review terms and rates over the
length of the contract to ensure service and rate accuracy are achieved.”
The GoCargo ocean contract module was previously known as NaviPact
