RYDER SYSTEM APPOINTS 2 VPS
Ryder System Inc., the logistics and transportation management provider has named Eduardo M. Vital as executive vice president of information technology and chief information officer, and promoted Robert E. Sanchez from CIO to senior vice president of global transportation management and network integration.
Vital joins Ryder with more than 30 years of management and information technology experience. He was a partner with Accenture, in the consultant's transportation and travel services group. He joined Accenture in 1995 and Ryder had been his primary client since 1997.
Prior to Accenture, Vital was vice president and managing director for the consulting firm SHL Systemhouse, now part of EDS.
At Ryder, Vital reports to Corliss J. Nelson, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Sanchez joined Ryder in 1993 and served most recently as chief information officer, after positions in the Miami-based company's logistics, fleet management and asset management departments. He reports to Gene Tyndall, executive vice president of global supply chain solutions.
