LUFTHANSA CARGO TO INTRODUCE FUEL SURCHARGE
Lufthansa Cargo said Thursday it will increase its fuel surcharge to 10 euros cents per kilogram of actual weight, effective Sept. 23.
The rate has been 5 euro cents per kilogram.
Lufthansa said that, based on its pricing method, whenever its fuel price index exceeds the threshold of 135 for two consecutive weeks, a surcharge of 10 euro cents per kilogram of actual freight weight is imposed.
In the last two weeks, the index had reached 138 and 142 points, respectively.
Lufthansa’s fuel price index is published weekly on its Web site: http://www.lufthansa-cargo.com.
