Amerijet expands cooler facility at Miami airport
Amerijet International has completed expansion of its perishable air freight cooler facility at Miami International Airport.
The new, 10,300-square-foot unit is designed to maintain cool supply chain integrity for perishables in transit and being transferred between transport modes. The facility has multiple pre-cooling systems, with the refrigerated storage space divided into four climate-controlled chambers for refrigerated, frozen, and chilled storage.
The new cooler is part of Amerijet's imports facility in the Cargo City area of Miami International. The 100,000-square-foot imports facility also includes 54,000 square feet of warehouse space with ramp access and dock-height loading doors.
In addition, Amerijet has an export hub at the Airport Executive Center with 210,000 square feet of warehouse space, 35 dock-height loading doors, refrigerated and frozen storage areas, and designated hazardous materials storage.
All the Amerijet cargo facilities are protected by 24-hour surveillance and security system.
'Having a large perishable facility at the Miami International Airport is critical for our customers,' said Lou Montella, Amerijet vice president of cargo operations. 'The new imports cooler is in addition to our already established 2,200-square-foot refrigerated and frozen export facility at the Airport Executive Center.'
