DB Schenker connects Oslo to Narvik
DB Schenker has started a rail service connecting Norway’s capital Oslo to the Arctic Circle town of Narvik.
The DB Schenker North Rail Express, a 1,960-kilometer route, brings consumer goods, consolidated freight and new vehicles to northern Norway five days a week. The train transports local products, such as fish, to the southwest on the return trip. About 25,000 containers a year will be shipped on the route, the company said.
The service has also been implemented in cooperation with the intermodal business unit of DB Schenker Rail.
