AIR FOYLE APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
Air Foyle, the cargo and charter passenger carrier based in London, has
named 30-year veteran aviation official John Jones managing director of the Air Foyle
Group of companies.
Jones will be responsible for day-to-day operations and report to Air
Foyle founder, Christopher Foyle, who will focus more on long-term
strategic planning as executive chairman.
Jones will focus on expanding Air Foyle’s burgeoning wet-lease passenger
operations, as well as the airline’s strong heavyweight cargo business. Air Foyle operates
and markets a fleet of Antonov AN-124 freighters, the world’s largest cargo planes, in
partnership with Antonov Design Bureau.
Jones has held a number of senior positions with several airlines and
consulting companies since starting his aviation career with Laker Airways in 1966.
