Congressional delegation to tour Los Angeles, Long Beach
Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Calif., chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Cybersecurity, will tour the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles Friday to evaluate port security operations at the nation's largest commercial seaport complex.
Subcommittee Ranking Member Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., and Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., will join the delegation, and will discuss the 'Security and Accountability For Every (SAFE) Port Act,' legislation introduced by Lungren and Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, on Tuesday. They will also discuss the roles and responsibilities for port security procedures, receive briefings on site access controls, and evaluate port security funding.
