LOS ANGELES CONTAINER IMPORTS UP 16% IN FEBRUARY
Loaded inbound containers at the port of Los Angeles were up by 16 percent in February, to 270,731 TEUs.
The increase reflects additional traffic brought by Maersk Sealand, which switched from Long Beach to Los Angeles last August.
Loaded outbound containers at Los Angeles amounted to 100,163 TEUs in February, an increase of 8 percent.
The number of empty boxes jumped by 57 percent over the same period, to 170,245 TEUs, from 108,202 TEUs in February 2002.
