TIBBETT & BRITTEN GROUP REVAMPS ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Tibbett & Britten Group plc, the U.K.-based international logistics
provider, has restructured its operations.
Tibbett & Britten Group, which employs 30,000 people in 30 countries in
Europe, North America, Africa and Asia, said that the change is designed to align its
business with the "transnational nature" of its core customers.
Effective Jan. 1, the new organization will be more sector-focussed. Tibbett
& Britten said that it aims to accelerate the pan-European development of the group’s
clothing and textiles logistics operations.
Ken Butt has been named managing director, European operations.
Mike Evans, previously chairman of Axial, the group’s automotive logistics arm, has been
named managing director, European clothing and textiles.
David Musgrave, while remaining chairman of Tibbett & Britten
International, has become responsible for retail logistics, including the Wal-Mart
business in Europe. Wal-Mart recently acquired the British retail chain Asda.
Gerry Brown, previously chairman, continental Europe, has been appointed
European external affairs and services director, with responsibility for property,
procurement, engineering, external communications, security and research and development.
Tibbett & Britten said that the new structure will also "simplify
and de-layer" the group’s European organization.
