WWL acquires integrated automotive logistics provider

The shipping carrier expanded vehicle operations in Mexico with purchase of Carlogistics.

   Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has acquired Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico-based vehicle logistics provider Carlogistics. 
   The acquisition, which adds vehicle processing centers in Cuautitlán and Veracruz and almost 100 employees to the company’s automotive logistics network, makes WWL Vehicle Services Americas the largest provider of vehicle processing for auto manufacturers in Mexico.
   The new facilities will provide integrated logistics services to auto manufacturers, including the preparation of cars for export and domestic sale, supply chain management, body shop work and storage.
   President & CEO of WWL VSA John Felitto said “Expanding its scope of operations and continuing to invest in Mexico allows WWL Vehicle Services Americas to deliver top quality, reliable services to car mnufacturers in an important high-demand, fast-growing market.”
   The yearly throughput of WWL VSA’s current automotive logistics network in Mexico is 1.6 million cars.
