USTR eyes harmonizing tariffs, liberalizing origin rules for NAFTA
The U.S. Trade Representative will consider harmonizing the tariff rates for the United States, Canada and Mexico, and liberalizing the rules of origin under the North American Free Trade Agreement.
On Oct. 7, the Free Trade Commission, which is responsible for implementing NAFTA, agreed to study tariff harmonization and origin rules liberalization for the trade agreement’s members.
