“K” LINE, MISC AND PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL IN ASIA/AFRICA LINK

   “K” Line, Malaysia International Shipping Corp. and Pacific International Lines are starting a joint service between Asia and South Africa.

   The service will call at Hong Kong (Friday/Saturday), Shekou (Saturday/Sunday), Singapore (Wednesday/Thursday), Port Kelang (Thursday/Friday), Durban (Monday/Thursday), Cape Town (Saturday/Sunday), Port Kelang (Saturday/Sunday) and Hong Kong. Cargoes to and from Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese and Thai ports will be transshipped over Singapore and Port Kelang.

   The service, employing six ships of 1,300 TEUs, will commence with the sailing of the “Malaysia Bridge” in Hong Kong on April 5.

   “K” Line said that the service will provide a shorter transit time from Hong Kong to Durban than existing services.
