American Airlines starts Chicago/Delhi flights
American Airlines Tuesday started daily nonstop flights between Chicago and India’s capital Delhi.
The Chicago/Delhi service is operated by a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, and the flight of about 7,500 miles makes it American’s longest nonstop route.
The United States and India signed an “open skies” agreement in April to stimulate new passenger and cargo services between the two nations.
“India is a fast growing international market for passenger and cargo traffic,” said Henry Joyner, American’s senior vice president-planning.
