HANJIN ADDS 5TH 5,600-TEU SHIP

   Hanjin Shipping has named a new 5,600-TEU containership, the Hanjin Ottawa.

   The vessel is the fifth in a series of 5,600-TEU ships chartered by Hanjin Shipping from German non-operating shipowner Conti Reederei.

   Built at the Hanjin Heavy Industries shipyard in Korea, the Hanjin Ottawa will join the Asia/Europe/North America “Pendulum I” service operated by Hanjin Shipping, Senator Lines and Cho Yang within the United Alliance.

   The new ship has a speed of more than 26.8 knots, a length of 279 meters and a width of 41 meters, Hanjin Shipping said.

   The Korean shipping line said that its vessels have an average age of three years.
