HUTCHISON TO EXTEND CARGO SECURITY TO YANTIAN PORT
Hutchison Port Holdings, a port operator and developer, said Monday it plans to extend marine cargo security to the port of Yantian in southern China via the Smart and Secure Tradelanes global security network.
Hutchison’s plan “to roll out the SST initiative in Yantian Port” follows the “operational deployment of SST in December at Yantian’s sister port, Hongkong International Terminals, which has already shipped more than a hundred 'smart and secure' containers from Hong Kong to the U.S. West Coast.”
“We have plans to extend SST to all of our terminals, including the ones in China,” said John Meredith, group managing director of Hutchison Port Holdings, which is a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.
