Former Chairman Elliott announces departure from STB

U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB) Vice Chairman Daniel Elliott III on Monday revealed he will be leaving the board, effective this Saturday.

   U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB) Vice Chairman Daniel Elliott III on Monday revealed he will be leaving the board, effective this Saturday, according to a press release issued by the STB.
   Elliott served as chairman of the STB from Aug. 13, 2009 until Dec. 31, 2015. He served a second term as chairman from June 26, 2015 until Jan. 25, 2017, when President Donald Trump designated Ann Bergeman as acting chairman.
   Elliott was designated vice chairman on Feb. 1, 2017.
   Before joining the STB, Elliott served (since 1993) as associate general counsel to the United Transportation Union. Earlier, he worked in private practice in Cleveland and Washington, D.C., handling various litigation matters.
