Canada Maritime adds transpacific link
CP Ships-owned Canada Maritime has enlarged its network of services between Canada and Asia with a service from Southeast Asia, and the introduction of port calls at Xiamen, China and Anchorage, Alaska.
From mid-July, the weekly “Pacific Gateway Route 1” service extends to Yantian and Hong Kong in Asia and to Anchorage in North America. This service has a rotation of Tokyo, Qingdao, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Yantian, Vancouver, Anchorage and Tokyo.
Canada Maritime’s “Pacific Gateway Route 2” now calls eastbound at Singapore, Pasir Gudang (Malaysia) and Laem Chabang (Thailand). The call at Shanghai, on the route 1 service, has been transferred to this service, with transit times from Vancouver to Shanghai cut from 20 to 13 days. The “Pacific Gateway Route 2” loops calls Singapore, Pasir Gudang, Laem Chabang, Shanghai, Pusan, Vancouver and Shanghai.
