APHIS TO HOLD MEETING ON INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will hold a public meeting on a draft international standard for the environmental impact of quarantine pests, including invasive pests.
The meeting will be held at the Yates Auditorium at the Interior Department in Washington on Nov. 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to solicit comments from the industry on the draft standard as part of the country consultation process. The International Plant Protection Convention is a multilateral convention adopted in 1952 to secure international cooperation in the control and prevention of spread of pests of plants and plant products and to promote appropriate control measures.
