Executive Moves: Port of Seattle, ATA and Aljex

Port of Seattle Commission elects new leadership, while American Trucking hires senior vice president of legislative affairs and Aljex Software creates new position, vice president of technology.

   The Port of Seattle Commission has elected Commissioner Tom Albro as president, Commissioner Courtney Gregoire as vice president, Commissioner Stephanie Bowman as secretary, Commissioner Fred Felleman as assistant secretary, and Commissioner John Creighton as commissioner-at-large for 2017.

   The American Trucking Associations (ATA) has hired John Drake as senior vice president of legislative affairs. Drake has previously held posts within the Department of Transportation, including Deputy Administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy, and Director of Governmental Affairs for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He also has extensive experience on Capitol Hill, serving as professional staff for the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee’s Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety and Security; as well as the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee.

   Cloud-based transportation management system provider Aljex Software has created a new position, vice president of technology, and appointed Mark Leffers to serve in the role. Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of innovative technologies, Leffers will report directly to founder and CEO Tom Heine.
