Jack Buono is named academy superintendent, Antje Lochmann is promoted by GEODIS and Jackie Cullison is hired by Stertil-Koni.
Maritime Administrator Mark Buzby announced that Jack Buono will serve as the next superintendent of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
Buono will take command at the academy on Friday. Most recently he served as president and CEO of ExxonMobil’s shipping subsidiary, SeaRiver Maritime Inc.
Buono graduated from the academy in Kings Point, N.Y., in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in marine transportation. He was commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve, for which he served 11 years.
Antje Lochmann has been promoted to managing director of GEODIS Freight Forwarding Germany.
Lochmann joined GEODIS in 2011 and has been responsible for sales, marketing, key accounts, tender management and sales control. Most recently she was the director of national sales and marketing for GEODIS Freight Forwarding Germany, headquartered in Hamburg.
She succeeds Matthias Hansen, who has been appointed global product head of ocean freight. He will support Lochmann during a two-month transition period through December.
Heavy-duty vehicle lift provider Stertil-Koni, headquartered in Stevensville, Md., has hired Jackie Cullison as an operations specialist.
Her responsibilities will include ordering heavy-duty vehicle lifts, coordinating deliveries and securing transportation of the lifts to end users across North America.
She has more than 14 years of experience managing ground operations for FedEx.
