Jade arranges lease for 747-400s
Startup Chinese air cargo airline Jade International Cargo said its initial fleet will comprise six Boeing 747-400 extended range freighters.
Jade, a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo and a German investment group, said it completed arrangements to lease three of the aircraft from a financial specialist and is finalizing financing with another leasing company.
The leasing companies will buy the new production freighters from Boeing, which will deliver the planes between 2006 and 2008.
Jade is scheduled to go into business in mid-2006.
