MATSON NAVIGATION REASSIGNS EXECUTIVES

   Matson Navigation Co. Inc., the Pacific ocean-shipping unit of Alexander & Baldwin Inc., has reassigned three executives.

   Branton B. 'Bal' Dreyfus, vice president, Hawaii and Guam since 1998, has been transferred from Honolulu to San Francisco and will work on special projects related to developing Matson's earnings base beyond its core domestic markets of Hawaii and Guam. He served as vice president, area manager, Southern California from 1995 to 1998 and vice president, area manager, Northern California, from 1994 to 1995.

   Richard S. Bliss succeeds Dreyfus as vice president, Hawaii and Guam, and has transferred from Seattle to Honolulu. He has been vice president, area manager, Pacific Northwest, since 1998 and was vice president, area manager, Hawaii and Guam from 1995 to 1998.

   Robert L. Dawdy succeeds Bliss as vice president, area manager, Pacific Northwest and transfers from San Francisco to Seattle. He was vice president, West coast operations in San Francisco since 1995.
