Hanjin’s owned ships clear ISPS tests
Hanjin Shipping, the Korean container and bulk shipping company, said its 45 owned vessels have obtained statements of compliance, and are ready to receive the international ship security certificates under the International Ship and Port Facility Security code, which becomes compulsory July 1.
The “Hanjin Tacoma,” a bulk carrier, acquired the statement of compliance with the ISPS code from the Korean Registry of Shipping May 6. Hanjin’s owned fleet comprises Korean flagged and Panamanian flagged ships.
Hanjin’s bulk transport subsidiary Keoyang Shipping was given a statement of compliance with the ISPS code on Monday for the “Keoyang Majesty.” This means that Keoyang’s entire fleet of eight owned vessels is now also fully compliant with the code.
