ROSE NAMED BNSF CHAIRMAN, KREBS RETIRES

   Matthew K. Rose, president and chief executive office of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp., has also been elected chairman, replacing Robert D. Krebs, who will retire at the company's annual shareholders meeting, April 17.

   Rose has served as president and CEO since Dec. 7, 2000 for the Fort Worth, Texas-based railroad, which covers 28 western states and two Canadian provinces..

   Krebs led BNSF since its creation on Sept. 22, 1995 through the merger of the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe railroads.
