Apparel importersÆ group names Zane chairman
The U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel (USA-ITA) has elected Bob Zane as chairman.
Zane, who is senior vice president of Liz Claiborne Inc., succeeds Peter M. McGrath, chairman of JCPenney Purchasing Corp., who has been USA-ITA's chairman since 2001. McGrath stepped down as chairman 'due to expanding responsibilities at J.C. Penney,' USA-ITA said in a statement.
At Liz Claiborne, Zane has responsibility for manufacturing, sourcing, distribution and logistics. He is also a founding member of the board of the Fair Labor Association, an organization that promulgates the independent monitoring of factories globally.
