China Shipping Container Lines has started a new independent service in the Asia/Mediterranean trade as well as taking slots from Zim Integrated Shipping Services on another loop in the same trade.

The new weekly “AMX 1” started with the departure of the vessel “CSCL Qingdao” from Tianjin on Jan. 19. The service uses eight ships and calls Tianjin, Dalian, Qingdao, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Jeddah, Damietta, Naples, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Jeddah, Port Kelang, Hong Kong and back to Tianjin.

The transit times of the new service and of all other east/west liner services are posted on ComPair Data, the global liner-shipping database at http://www.compairdata.com .

At the same time, China Shipping is offering an additional service by taking slots on the Asia/Mediterranean segment of Zim’s weekly “Asia Med Pacific” service. China Shipping markets that service as “AMX 2.”
