OECD MARITIME TRANSPORT COMMITTEE TO MEET JAN. 24-25

   Nations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will meet in Paris Jan. 24-25 to discuss maritime issues.

   Topics for discussion include substandard shipping, focusing on failure to meet safety and environmental standards, and the effects of taxes on shipping.

   Bruce Carlton, the Maritime Administration’s associate administrator for policy and international trade, will head the U.S. delegation.    Peter Gatti will observe the discussions on behalf of the National Industrial Transportation League, while Don O’Hare will observe on behalf of the World Shipping Council.
