The ocean carrier has ordered additional containers, chassis and gensets for use in its services on trade lanes between the U.S. mainland, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Central America.
Crowley Maritime Corp. has placed orders for 4,300 pieces of additional equipment for use in its services on trade lanes between the U.S. mainland, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Central America.
The acquisitions include:
- Nearly 400 gensets – both nosemounts and underslungs – which will begin arriving in Jacksonville, Fla. between July and September.
- 700 45-foot (102-inch-wide) dry containers and 525 40-45-foot extendable chassis, all expected in Jacksonville no later than the end of September.
- 500 53-foot (102-inch-wide) dry containers; 500 53-foot chassis; 325 20-foot chassis and 1,360 40-foot chassis, all slated for delivery by November.
- High-cube containers including 75 40-foot refrigerated containers, which will be delivered in Limon, Costa Rica, by late September in advance of the heavy Central America reefer season.
