New York cabbage producer denied trade help
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service denied a petition filed by cabbage producer A. Sam Farm of Dunkirk, New York, requesting trade adjustment assistance.
After investigation, the agency determined that cabbage imports for the January-February 2003 marketing year declined 22 percent from the same period in 2003. However, since imports declined during the marketing year, the petition did not meet the increasing imports requirement to receive the trade adjustment assistance.
