USA Truck names new CEO and SAL picks Asia market head, while Cargo 2000 appoints technical manager and AWO promotes VP to COO.
USA Truck has appointed John “Randy” R. Rogers president and chief executive officer. He succeeded Thomas Glaser, a board member who had filled the position after the departure of John Simone in July. Rogers was most recently president of energy and chemicals in the Americas for DHL Supply Chain. He had also held various positions at CSX Transportation.
Heavy-lift carrier SAL has named Jürgen Kuntz head of its Asia desk in Hamburg. He joined SAL in 1993 and, in 2001, helped opened the company’s first overseas office in Shanghai. He worked briefly at BBC Chartering in China in 2011 and returned to SAL at the start of this year.
Chris Davies has been appointed technical manager at Cargo 2000, based in Geneva. Before joining Cargo 2000, he worked for Descartes Systems Group in London, where he led various systems integration projects for the company’s GF-X electronic cargo-booking portal for freight forwarders and carriers.
The American Waterways Operators, the national trade association for the tugboat, towboat and barge industry, has promoted Jennifer Carpenter to chief operating officer. She was previously the association’s executive vice president.
