Commerce to continue monitoring steel imports
The U.S. Commerce Department said it will continue its steel import licensing and surge monitoring program established Feb. 1.
President Bush ordered the Commerce secretary to continue the program when he announced the end to his special steel import tariffs Dec. 4. Commerce will continue its steel import licensing and monitoring activities through March 21, 2005, unless specifically changed by the commerce secretary.
