CNS REQUIRES CARGO AGENTS, FORWARDERS TO INCREASE SECURITY
Cargo Network Services, the U.S. division of the International Air Transport Association, will require its cargo agent and forwarder members to increase security.
By Jan. 1, 2001, CNS members must have at least one trained security person at each office, including branch offices.
CNS has helped its members by referring them to IATA-endorsed dangerous goods training schools and CNS-approved non-IATA-endorsed training centers.
CNS said it’s pursuing security improvements in the air-cargo industry to meet the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program.
