OOCL EXTENDS JAPAN/HONG KONG LINK TO SINGAPORE, JAKARTA
Orient Overseas Container Line will extend its two-ship weekly Kawasaki/Taiwan “KTX” Service to cover Indonesia and Singapore, renaming it the “Japan South East Asia Service.”
From next week four 1,200-TEU vessels will extend the existing Japan/Kaohsiung/Hong Kong circuit to add new calls in Singapore; Merak, Indonesia; and Jakarta, returning to Japan via further calls at Singapore, Hong Kong and Kaohsiung.
The five Japanese port calls at Tokyo, Kawasaki, Chiba, Osaka, and Kobe remain as in “KTX.”
Only a call at Yantian, near Hong Kong, has been dropped.
OOCL said that “JSS” will offer several best transit times in the market. From Osaka it will take three days to Kaohsiung and 10 days to Singapore. From Jakarta it will take 12 days to Kawasaki/Yokohama and six days to Hong Kong.
