TSA: Cargo onboard direct flights from Russia get extra scrutiny

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has ordered two airlines with direct service to the United States from Russia to intensify their checks for explosives in cargo.

The TSA issued the order to Delta Air Lines and Aeroflot Russian Airlines, according to a report in today's Washington Post. The measure is in response to two Russian planes that crashed last week.

The Post reported that the TSA waited to issue the order until after Russia authorities confirmed explosives likely brought down the planes, killing 89 people.
