NEXTLINX TO LINK WITH G-LOG
Global Logistics Technologies Inc. and Nextlinx Corp. announced a partnership Thursday to combine G-Log's Internet-based logistics and transportation software with NextLinx's system which estimates total landed cost at order and ensures governmental compliance and documentation.
G-Log's Global Command and Control Center software provides real-time global routing, rating scheduling, booking, tendering, tracking, continuous order visibility and management of multimodal, multicarrier shipments. G-Log, which works closely with FedEx Corp., has helped finance five start-ups to use its G3 system.
Nextlinx's system calculates customs duties and landed costs and ensures compliance with governmental regulations and required documentation. NextLinx, based in Silver Springs, Md., maintains information on trade regulations, duties, documentation and landed costs for all 99 chapters of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and all HTS product classifications for each of 65 countries. The company, which can process up to 10 million transactions a day, plans to have full trade regulations for more than 100 countries by the end of this year.
Nextlinx competes with companies, such as Capstan Systems Inc. and ClearCross Inc., which seek to build an online network of logistics providers, including forwarders, carriers, customs brokers and financial institutions.
