FedEx Ground names Marticke COO

FedEx Ground, an operating unit of FedEx Corp., said Ivan Hofmann, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will retire in January after a 33-year career in the transportation industry.

Hofmann will be succeeded by Rodger Marticke, executive vice president in charge of strategic planning, quality management and communications.

Marticke’s duties will be assumed by Bram Johnson, who returns to FedEx Ground, effective immediately as corporate vice president of strategic development for the parent corporation. Johnson was senior vice president of marketing for RPS, which FedEx acquired in 1998, and rebranded as FedEx Ground in January 2000.

Hoffman also started out at RPS.
