EAGLE USA AIRFRIGHT CHANGES NAME TO EGL
Eagle USA Airfreight said it will change its name to EGL Inc.
“As we continue our international growth, it is important that our name be representative of our broader markets and services while continuing to leverage our investments in the Eagle brand,” said James R. Crane, chairman and chief executive officer of the Houston-based forwarder.
The company began its operations as a domestic air-freight forwarder. It has since expanded into other services, such as land and ocean transport and logistics. It has 3,000 employees in 90 offices in nine countries.
Eagle will also change its Nasdaq stock trading symbol from EUSA to EAGL, starting Feb. 28.
