CELARIX SIGNS LOWE’S

Celarix Inc., the Massachusetts-based developer of Web-based logistics management systems, has signed Lowe’s Cos. Inc., the U.S. home improvement retailer, to implement Celarix software for communicating with suppliers and transport providers.

Lowe’s, the 15th largest retailer in the United States with $15.9 billion in annual sales, will use Celarix to track inbound shipments at a product level moving from some 375 factory suppliers in Asia to its 600 stores in 40 U.S. states.

Celarix uses Web-based technology to collect data from suppliers and transportation companies and to provide that information in a single format for customers.

“As we continue to aggressively expand, we are seeking ways to improve and modernize Lowe’s logistics and inventory ordering processes to meet the requirements of our new and existing retail stores,” said Dean Tracy, director of import logistics for Lowe’s. “By implementing Celarix’ real-time, Web-based solution, we will be able to improve communication with our trading partners, decrease inventory in the pipeline and increase efficiency with more accurate information on shipments.”
