SCHENKER RELAUNCHES MARINE PARTS DELIVERY SERVICE
Schenker said that it has relaunched its marine parts global delivery service.
With a competence center in Singapore and six regional support centers covering Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas, Schenker delivers spare parts to the shipping industry round the clock. The “door to vessel” service is aimed at ship owners, ship management companies, ship builders and manufacturers and uses Schenker’s airfreight time-definite services, as well as trucking, warehousing, seafreight and value-added services as required.
Schenker said that the majority of companies involved in buying and selling of ship spares are “hesitant to work with the new virtual marketplaces.” However, Schenker has recently discussed strategic alliances with e-commerce providers in the business-to-business ship spares industry, it said.
