WALLENIUS, WILHELMSEN TO OPERATE JOINTLY
Wallenius Lines and Wilh. Wilhelmsen will create a jointly owned company
that will operate the world’s largest fleet of vehicle and roll-on/roll-off
ships.
The joint venture will be equally owned by Wallenius and Wilhelmsen. The
company will operate more than 70 vessels, which will continue to be owned
by the individual companies.
The new company, to begin operation June 1, will have joint headquarters
at Oslo, where Wilhelmsen is based, and Stockholm, the home of Wallenius.
Ingar Skaug, president of Wilhelmsen, will be president and CEO.
Christer Olsson, president of Wallenius, will be chairman.
