Asian airlines’ freight up 6.4% in January
The Kuala Lumpur-based Association of Asia Pacific Airlines reported that its 17 member airlines transported 4.05 million freight-ton kilometers in January, up 6.4 percent compared to 3.81 million freight-ton kilometers in the same month last year.

“2006 has begun on an encouraging note, with healthy growth in both passenger and freight carried by Asia Pacific airlines. The outlook remains fairly positive, barring any unforeseen shocks to the global economy,” said Andrew Herdman, director general at the association.
