Averitt opens distribution centers near three ports
Averitt Express, a freight transportation and supply chain management services provider, said Thursday it has recently opened three portside distribution centers in Seattle, Oakland and Panama City, Fla.
Over three years, Averitt has established distribution facilities in several major U.S. port cities to expand international services for customers, including container drayage, transloading, deconsolidation/consolidation and nationwide intermodal inland transportation management.
Averitt said it also provides warehousing functions at its portside facilities, including cross-docking, product storage, flow-through distribution, assembly, kitting, bar coding, retail-ready labeling and integrated yard management. Averitt officials said the facilities, all located within five miles of their respective ports, will allow Averitt to continue to expand end-to-end importing/exporting capabilities for its customers.
Averitt also operates distribution facilities in Los Angeles; Long Beach; Houston; New Orleans; Miami and Jacksonville, Fla.; Savannah, Ga.; Charleston, S.C.; and Norfolk, Va.
